A fine, dry and pleasant day awaited the arrival of the BAGS v CSGS participants at Worplesdon GC on Wednesday 28th February. This is the 1st match of the BAGS year and due to BAGS Captain Miles Wilkinson being unable to attend, his Vice Captain Jason Warren stepped in to cover . Despite some extremely good golf, and no short dogged determination for our valiant BAGS members, we were unable to win back the trophy that we lost to the Chartered Surveyors Golf Society last year. The result was 4 & 2 in the favour of the CSGS. Worplesdon was in fantastic condition given the amount of rain fallen in the weeks before, we even had stripes on the fairways and green approaches. The 3 course lunch once again lived up to a high standard as expected from this wonderful Surrey venue. Despite the lack of victory for the BAGS, the match was played in true spirit of the game and a good time had by all. Our thanks go to the BAGS team members and members of the CSGS team and Worplesdon Golf Club for hosting and wonderful day.
