The 2023 Annual Lunch was again held at the RAF Club on Piccadilly where Nick Findlay said goodbye as the 2023 BAGS Captain although his year was disrupted due to a serious back operation. However, Nick attended events where he could and was ably supported by the past captains and the committee. Nick welcomed 100 BAGS members and guests to this popular venue and presented his year and introduced Miles Wilkinson as the 2024 BAGS Captain. Nick invited Iain Carter, a BBC Golf correspondent as his speaker who entertained the whole room with his stories from the European and US tours and the recent Ryder Cup in Italy. The change from a comedian to sports personality proved successful and was received well by all in attendance. As is the tradition at this event, the Golfer of the year, was presented the Len Trowell trophy and for the second year running, Martyn Howie was the recipient. Miles Wilkinson then announced his plans for the 2024 season which included the details of his Captains Away trip to Burnham and Berrow and and Castle Coombe in June. The lunch concluded in the bar and ended a wonderful afternoon of good food, laughter and networking.
