On Thursday 24th November nearly 100 BAGS members and guests enjoyed a near full house for the popular BAGS Annual Lunch at the RAF Club on Piccadilly. The event was chaired by Patrick Mays, one of the 2022 three musketeer Captains including Billy Field and Adrian Peacock who between them headed the 2022 BAGS golfing events allowing our incoming Captain Nick Findlay a year to act as Vice Captain as Covid had thrown the Captain sequence off line. Patrick welcomed all members and guests describing the years results and events culminating in the presentation of the overall best golfer of the year, Martyn Howie, being awarded the Len Trower Trophy and the Secretary Cup winner Gary Evans. With the assistance of the Toast Master all Guests, Members and committee of the BAGS were upstanding to a toast, with the first BAGS Loyal Toast to ‘The King’ Patrick then handed over to the incoming Captain Nick Findlay who advised of his hopes and wishes for the new golfing season in 2023. We remembered those members who departed us in the year and a touching tribute from the son of Dean Webster and his love of the BAGS. The toastmaster then introduced us to the comedian Ian Irvine who provided the welcome sound of laughter after such a sumptuous lunch.
