The first match of the 2023 season was held at Worplesdon Golf Club in Surrey on the 2nd March. With our Captain Nick Findlay, away celebrating his 50th Birthday in Abu Dhabi, Billy Field led a BAGS team to its second defeat against another strong CSGS team. Whist the result was very close the weather was perfect and the course in a much dryer condition that usually found at this time of year. Billy and Adrian Maher played with Colin Searle and the CSGS society National Captain Mike Cook who had travelled from Middlesbrough, out driving BAGS member Martyn Howie! Before the event, Frank Hynes asked for a supportive partner and then delivered a 7&6 win with partner Simon Kincaid! Believe in your golf Frank.
